This past year, the Washington State legislature updated the real estate brokerage relationships effective January 1, 2024. Among other things, it is required that a Buyer Agency agreement be signed between an agent and a buyer when an agent begins to provide real estate services to a buyer. The changes are designed to clarify the scope of the agency relationship more fully between buyer and agent and how the agent is compensated for services to the buyer as sellers may decide not to compensate the buyer’s agent.
I have attached an updated pamphlet that summarizes the law related to Washington State Brokerage Services. Please reach out to me if you have questions. As always, I look forward to serving you in 2024 and beyond.
