International Women’s Day celebrated on March 8 each year, commemorates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and calls for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls around the world.
Established in 1909, International Women’s Day has been officially recognized by the United Nations since 1975 and is celebrated by countries around the world.
